Chow Mein vs. Lo Mein
Ever wondered whats the difference between lo mein and chow mein? Before we jump into the recipe, it’s essential to discern the difference between Chow Mein and Lo Mein. Lo mein typically incorporates fresh noodles, boiled briefly, whereas chow mein involves dried noodles that undergo a partial boiling process for approximately five to six minutes. This distinction in noodle preparation contributes to the contrasting textures between the two dishes, with lo mein showcasing softer noodles and chow mein featuring a crisper texture due to the parboiling of the dried noodles.

- Customize your Chow Mein by adding or substituting vegetables or protein according to your preferences.
- Ensure the noodles are cooked al dente before adding them to the dish to maintain the perfect texture.
- Adjust the spice level by altering the quantity of chili sauce or chili flakes to suit your taste buds.
