Storage and Shelf Life
- Room Temperature: Store the leftover Khasta Nimki in an airtight container for up to 1 week. This ensures they stay fresh and maintain their crispy texture.
- Freezing (Cooked Version): If you have excess nimki, you can freeze them for longer preservation. Place them in a freezer-safe bag or container, removing as much air as possible, and freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for a quick snack.
- Freezing (Uncooked Version): Alternatively, you can freeze the uncooked nimki for future use. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container, separating each layer with parchment paper to prevent sticking. They can be stored for up to 3 months. When ready to use, fry them directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
Useful Tips
Here are some useful tips for a perfect Nimki Recipe:
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying the nimki to achieve a crispy texture.
- Experiment with different spices and seasonings to customize the flavor of your nimki.
- For a healthier alternative, try baking or air frying the nimki instead of deep frying.
- Store nimki in a single layer to prevent them from sticking together and losing their crispiness.
