  • Black Cardamom – 2 Pods

  • Whole Black Pepper – 1 tsp

  • Bay Leaves – 2 Medium Sized

  • Chopped Onions – 1 Cup

  • Diced Tomatoes -1 Cup

  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp

  • Diced Green Chilies – 3 Medium Sized

  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp

  • Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp

  • Chili Flakes – 1 tsp

  • Garam Masala – 1 tsp

  • Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp

  • Salt – 1 tbsp

  • Moong Dal – 2 Cups

  • Water – 1 Cup

  • Dried Fenugreek Leaves – 2 tbsp

  • Fresh Coriander Leaves – 1/2 Cup

  • In a pan, heat 1/2 cup of cooking oil. Add 1 tablespoon of cumin seeds, 3 cloves, 2 pods of black cardamom, 1 teaspoon of whole black pepper, and 2 medium-sized bay leaves. Fry the spices for 2 minutes until fragrant.
